Cheneil

Cheneil is a district of the municipality of Valtournenche in the Aosta Valley .

It is located at 2105 m above sea level. M. on a small plateau at the foot of a valley dominated by the mountains Grand and Petit Tournalin, Monte Roisetta , Becca Trecare and Becca d'Aran. The Col Clavalité rises to the south.

It is one of the few hamlets in the Aosta Valley that cannot be reached by car. To make access easier for visitors, an inclined elevator was built in 2016 that leads from the parking lot to the plateau. It has a length of 97.9 m and overcomes a height difference of 53.9 m.
