The Chengdu Shishi Zhongxue ( Chinese  成都 石室 中學  /  成都 石室 中学 , Pinyin Chéngdū Shíshì Zhōngxué , English Chengdu Shishi High School ) is the oldest secondary school in the world. It is located in Chengdu , Sichuan Province , People's Republic of China and was built between 143 and 141 BC. Founded by Wen Weng . During the Han Dynasty , it housed a Confucian school. The Chinese Shishi ( 石室 ) means stone house and indicates the specialty of the school to be built of stone.

The school was rebuilt and renamed several times. It is one of the most important schools in China.
