Chet bread is the ancient Egyptian name of a type of bread that is first mentioned in the tomb of the official Peher-nefer in the 4th dynasty . It is mentioned in a tax list and, according to the funerary inscription, was intended for the "Miller's House".

The term " Chet " generally refers to the plant-based food of the ancient Egyptians, in particular to the grain .
