Cheyne Capital

Cheyne Capital Management (UK) LLP is an alternative hedge funds - investment company based in London . It was founded in 1999 by Jonathan Lourie and Stuart Fiertz, who both previously worked for Morgan Stanley . The company's funds include corporate loan, real estate , event-driven and equity and equity-linked funds. Cheyne Capital Management (UK) LLP is regulated and authorized by the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Cheyne launched its first fund in 2000 and today manages out the net assets unterschiedlichster products with a total value of over 6.9 billion US dollars . Customers include pension funds , foundations , family offices and funds of funds . The Cheyne Group employs 140 people with offices in London , Switzerland and the Bermuda Islands.

Stuart Fiertz, one of the co-founders, is one of 14 members of the Hedge Fund Working Group (HFWG) who published a consultation paper on best practice standards in valuation, transparency and risk management in 2007. These standards should lead to more transparency, better understanding and thus more trust in the industry. Compliance with these guidelines is now monitored by the Hedge Fund Standards Board, a self-regulatory body to which Cheyne also belongs.
