Chico Che

Chico Che (born December 7, 1940 in Teapa , Tabasco , † March 29, 1989 in Mexico City ) was the stage name of the Mexican singer and songwriter Francisco José Hernández Mandujano .

biography

Chico Che was born in the city of Teapa in the Mexican state of Tabasco . He was the youngest ("el chico") of three brothers.

Chico Che founded several musical groups, the best known of which under the name La Crisis . In the 1970s and 1980s he was Tabasco's most popular musician and was known throughout the country for his typical stage appearance in work overalls and glasses. Chico Che's music is still widely heard in Mexico, but especially in the state of Tabasco.
