Famila (2017) Chime -

Chime is the title of the second studio album by the Japanese pop and rock band sumika , which was released on March 13, 2019 on SME Records on the Japanese market. The album, which has a total length of exactly 54 minutes, contains a total of 14 tracks. The pieces Fanfare , Shunkashūtō and Himitsu can be heard in the anime film I want to eat your pancreas , while the fiction , which is also on the album, was used as the opening credits for the anime series No Cheats for Love .

production

Compared to the previously published works of the group, the musicians proceeded differently in the production of the second album: beforehand, the four musicians discussed how a song should be created. For the pieces on Chime , guitarist Kuroda, who was also responsible for the album production, first started working on the pieces and then presented them to the other band members. Production took place in the course of 2018, with the band also doing concert tours through Japan in the summer and October .

The piece Juni no Hōgaku was written at a much earlier point in time, but the musicians did not find time to officially record the piece, so it was finally recorded as the opening title for Chime . Various guest musicians can be heard on the album, who have been invited by the band to produce their pieces. Kataoka stated in an interview that these guest musicians make up 25 percent of the band's music.
