history

Chimera Entertainment was founded in 2006 by Alexander Kehr and Christian Kluckner, both graduates of the Munich Mediadesign Hochschule (MDH), together with Hendrik Lesser and his production house remote control productions. Kehr and Kluckner were among the first game design graduates from Munich-based MDH and the successful collaboration on their final project led to the establishment of the joint company.

Kehr, who started developing card and board games at the age of six, and Kluckner, who had over four years of experience as a programmer, got help from Hendrik Lesser and his newly founded production house remote control productions . As an experienced producer, Lesser provided part of the management team at Chimera Entertainment.

In 2007, Chimera received the LARA Start Up Award sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Bavaria. Chimera Entertainment's first project was the real-time strategy game Windchaser ( Windows ). The game combines elements from popular RTS games, role-playing games and turn-based tactical games into an independent game idea and takes place in a fantasy world called Ensai, which was created based on an idea by Kehr.

In 2009, in cooperation with BBG Entertainment, Chimera published the game Brain Training with Dr. Kawashima for Windows and Mac OS , based on the studies of the Japanese neuroscientist Ryūta Kawashima . In cooperation with Bigpoint Chimera Entertainment released a year later, the strategy game Warstory - Europe in Flames , a Microsoft Silverlight - browser game that plays during the time of World War II.

In the years that followed, Chimera took on some commissioned work and released several games for various platforms. In cooperation with Rovio , Chimera Entertainment also developed the new Angry Birds game Angry Birds Epic , which was released in June 2014 for iOS , Windows Phone and Android .
