Chimgon ( Uzbek ; Russian Чимган Chimgan , Kyrgyz Чимган Tschimgan ) is a recreation area and winter sports area in the western foothills of the Tianshan Mountains in Uzbekistan , near the city of Chirchiq in the Tashkent province .

Chimgon is located at an altitude of 1600  m , about 90 km east of Tashkent , the capital of Uzbekistan. The western foothills of the Tianshan are also called the Chatkal Mountains and form the Ugom Chatqol National Park . The highest mountain is the Great Chimgon with 3309  m , which is covered with snow all year round.

As in all of Uzbekistan, the climate is very continental. Winter is cold and in summer the temperatures climb to 30 ° C. The annual rainfall is about 650 mm.

In the winter sports area there are some old hotels from the Soviet era and holiday homes. The ski season lasts from December to mid-March.

Guided hiking tours through the mountains are offered in the summer months.
