China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) is a Chinese construction company that is primarily active in railway construction . The Beijing-based company was installed on June 1, 1979 by the State Council of the People's Republic of China and is now a 100 percent subsidiary of China Railway Construction (CRCC).

history

The foundation was owed to the contract to build the TAZARA , a task that previously active companies in China could not have carried out. Construction of the 1,860 km long, pan-African railway between Tanzania and Zambia began in 1970 and was completed in 1975, two years ahead of schedule.

The State Economic and Trade Commission and the Tiědàobù Ministry of Railways were responsible for approving the establishment of the CCECC . A renaming and reorganization as well as the connection to the group China Railway Construction took place on December 26th 1996. In 2000 the area of responsibility was separated from the Ministry of Railways to the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Since then, CCECC has had access to the resources of nearly 200 Chinese commercial companies and is able to participate in large international tenders. Since 2006 there has been an agreement on cooperation with the Nigerian railway company Nigerian Railway Corporation , based on which it was decided to build an over 1000 km long express railway line. In 2016, the 187 km long Abuja - Kaduna route went into operation. Other comparable international activities took place in Hong Kong , the United Arab Emirates and Botswana . The China Civil Engineering Construction built a 339 km long section of the Addis Ababa – Djibouti railway line .
