China Girl (song)

China Girl is a song by David Bowie and Iggy Pop that they wrote when they were living in Berlin . The piece appeared for the first time on the album The Idiot by Iggy Pop in 1977. The piece became much better known through the new recording by David Bowie on the album Let's Dance (1983).

Paul Trynka, author of the David Bowie biography Starman , describes in his book that the song was inspired by the relationship between Iggy Pop and the Vietnamese Kuelan Nguyen.
