China Huiyuan Juice Group
The China Huiyuan Juice Group is a privately owned beverage manufacturer and marketer in the People's Republic of China . The group's headquarters are in Beijing . The chairman of the board is Zhu Xinli.
Fruit and vegetable juices, fruit nectars, waters, teas and milk beverages are produced.
history
Huiyuan was founded in 1992 by Zhu Xinli. The company has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 2007. That same year, Huiyuan became a contract supplier for Wal-Mart stores in the United States. In September 2013, it became known that allegations of using spoiled fruit were being investigated by Chinese authorities.

So far, 23% of the shares in Huiyuan belong to the French dairy company Danone , 7% to the American holding company Warburg Pincus & Co (as of end of 2008).
In early September 2008, the Coca Cola Company, through a subsidiary, signed an agreement with Huiyuan to take over the entire group for 17.9 billion Hong Kong dollars (2.4 billion US dollars). The offer was almost three times the market value at the time. However, the sale was banned in March 2009 by the anti-monopoly commission of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce because Coca Cola did not want to meet their requirements to a sufficient extent (among other things, the sale of the main brand Huiyuan was requested after the takeover).

With a 10% market share, Huiyuan is the largest producer of undiluted juices in China (Coca Cola is the leader in diluted fruit juice beverages with 9.6% ; all sectors taken together, Huiyuan and Coca Cola had a combined market share of almost 40% in 2008, with the Chinese juice market as a whole annually still growing by over 10%). In 2007, Huiyuan achieved sales of 2.66 billion yuan (EUR 260 million).
