China News Service (CNS) is the second largest state news agency in the People's Republic of China after the Xinhua News Agency .

CNS was founded in 1952. The news agency has agency offices in every province in mainland China, as well as in Hong Kong and Macau . There are also agency locations in various countries, including the United States, Japan, France and Australia. CNS was headed by Beixian Liu until February 2015 . CNS is headquartered in Beijing .
