The China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG, Chinese  中国 长江 三峡 集团公司 , Pinyin Zhōngguó Chángjiāng Sānxiá Jítuán Gōngsī ) is a state-owned Chinese utility company, founded on September 27, 1993. The company built and manages the Three Gorges Dam project, the went into operation on December 14, 1994, as well as other dams on the Yangtze River and its upper reaches ( Gezhouba , Xiangjiaba , Xiluodu , Baihetan and Wudongde dams).

CTG (formerly China Yangtze Three Gorges Project Development Corporation ) is one of the world's largest energy supply companies with total assets of RMB 280.98 billion (2009).

Participation in EDP

At the end of 2011, CTG took over 21.35% of the state-owned Portuguese electricity supplier Energias de Portugal (EDP) for EUR 2.69 billion . It won the bid in the race with the German E.ON and the Brazilian Electrobras and intends to invest around another 8 billion euros in EDP in the medium term.

In May 2018, CTG submitted a takeover offer. CTG wants to increase its existing stake to at least 50% plus one share
