Chinese Railway Museum

The Chinese Railway Museum ( Chinese 中国 铁道 博物馆 , Pinyin Zhongguo tiedao bowuguan , English China Railway Museum ) is a facility of the Chinese Railway (CNR) with several locations in Beijing :
- A vehicle hall is located in Beijing's Chaoyang district . It opened in 2002 and covers an area of 16,500 square meters. Mainly locomotives from the time after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 are shown here.
- In the city center, on the southeast corner of the square at the Gate of Heavenly Peace , in the reception building of the former Zhengyangmen train station , documents and photographs from the past and present of the Chinese Railways are shown on four levels one above the other. In the basement there is a model of the Lhasa Railway and other models of reception buildings on China's high-speed rail lines . The museum also houses the driving simulator of a CRH3 high-speed train, which is also used to carry out “trips” for visitors, which is subject to a charge. Entrance to the museum is chargeable.
