Chaoyang ( Chinese 朝阳 区 , Pinyin Cháoyáng Qū ) is a district in the northeast of the Chinese capital Beijing .
Its area is 455 km². The 1990 census counted 1,433,901 residents in Chaoyang, 2,289,756 in 2000, and 3,545,137 in 2010. This makes Chaoyang the highest-numbered district.
Chaoyang is a diplomatic quarter with numerous embassies. The well-known Sanlitun bar and pubs are also located in Chaoyang.
Since 2009 Chaoyang has been participating in the government's campaign for civilized cities and districts . The slogan first used in English : Civilized Chaoyang. Magnificent with me! has since been dropped, but red armband patrols increased in 2011.
Administrative structure
At the community level, Chaoyang consists of 24 street districts and 19 area offices . These are:

- Liulitun Street District (六里屯 Straßen);
- Street district Maizidian (麦子 店 街道);
- Panjiayuan Street (潘家园 街道);
- Sanlitun street district (三里屯 街道);
- Shoudu Jichang (首都 机场 街道) street district , "Capital Airport";
- Shuangjing Street District (双井 街道);
- Tuanjiehu Street District (团结湖 街道);
- Wangjing Street District (望京 街道);
- Wangjing Kaifa Street District (望京 开发 街道);
- Xiangheyuan Street District (香河 园 街道);
- Xiaoguan Street District (小 关 街道);
- Yayuncun street district (亚运村 Straßen), "Asian Games Sportsman Village";
- Road quarter Zuojiazhuang (左家庄街道);
- Changying area office of Hui nationality (常 营 回族 entspricht), equivalent to Changying Township of Hui nationality (常 营 回族 乡);
- Cuigezhuang Area Office (崔 各庄 地区), corresponds to Cuigezhuang Township (崔 各 庄乡);
- Dongba Area Office (东坝 地区), corresponds to Dongba Township (东 坝乡);
- Dongfeng District Office (东风 地区), corresponds to Dongfeng Township (东风 乡);
- Dougezhuang Area Office (豆各庄 地区), corresponds to Dougezhuang Township (豆各庄 乡);
- Field office Gaobeidian (高碑店地区), the municipality Gaobeidian (高碑店乡) corresponds;
- Guanzhuang Area Office (管 庄 Gebiet), corresponds to Guanzhuang Township (管 庄乡);
- Field office Heizhuanghu (黑庄户地区), the municipality Heizhuanghu (黑庄户乡) corresponds;
- Jiangtai Area Office (将 台 地区), corresponds to Jiangtai Township (将 台 乡);
- Jinzhan Area Office (金盏 Gebiet), corresponds to Jinzhan Township (金盏 乡);
- Laiguangying (来广营 地区) area office, corresponds to Laiguangying (来广营 乡) township;
- Nanmofang Area Office (南 磨房 Gebiet), corresponds to Nanmofang Township (南 磨房 乡);
- Area Office Pingfang (平房 地区), corresponds to the municipality of Pingfang (平房 乡);
- Sanjianfang Area Office (三 间 房 地区), corresponds to Sanjianfang Township (三 间 房 乡);
- Field office Shibalidian (十八里店地区), the municipality Shibalidian (十八里店乡) corresponds;
- Sunhe Area Office (孙河 地区), corresponds to Sunhe Township (孙 河乡);
- Field office Taiyanggong (太阳宫地区), the municipality Taiyanggong (太阳宫乡) corresponds;
- Field office Wangsiying (王四营地区), the municipality Wangsiying (王四营乡) corresponds;
- Xiaohongmen Area Office (小红门 Gebiet), corresponds to Xiaohongmen Township (小红门 乡).
Dashanzi Art District
The art district Dashanzi (798 Art Zone), in which the artist Ai Weiwei also lives, is also in the Chaoyang district.
