Shunyi ( Chinese 顺义 区 , Pinyin Shùnyì Qū ) is a district of the Chinese capital Beijing .
Shunyi is located northeast outside of downtown Beijing. It has an area of 1020 km². In 1990 censuses the population of Shunyi was 548,345, 636,479 in 2000, and 876,620 in 2010.
Beijing International Airport is located within the Shunyi area but is an exclave of the Chaoyang metropolitan area .
The Olympic rowing and canoeing park is located in Shunyi .
