The Shunyi Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Park is a sports facility in the Shunyi district of Beijing that was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics . On the race track competitions were in rowing and canoe racing discharged. In addition, the canoe slalom competitions and open water swimming were held on the site . The rowing competitions were also held at the Shunyi rowing and canoeing park at the 2008 Summer Paralympics .

Construction work on the Shunyi Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Park, located approx. 13 km northeast of the international airport , began in the first half of 2005 and ended on July 28, 2007. The heavily forested park in the north extends over around 800 hectares and includes a regatta course in the southern part with a separate side channel for warming up and a whitewater facility to the west . This makes Shunji Park the first Olympic sports facility to date to have both a racing track and a whitewater course. There are 1,200 permanent seats. For the Olympic Games there was space for a further 25,800 spectators in temporary seats, and there was a further 10,000 standing room.

Problems arose during the 2008 Olympic Games due to strong algae growth . However, the algae were removed with boats so that the competitions were hardly affected, but some athletes in canoe racing competed with modified control fins to prevent the algae from getting stuck and thus losing time.

In 2007, the Shunji Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Park hosted the Junior World Rowing Championships as a test competition. After the Olympic Games, the sports facility was to be used primarily for swimming and as a park. However, they are rarely used today and are partly left to their own devices.
