The Capital Indoor Stadium (English: Capital Indoor Stadium) is a sports hall at the Baishi Bridge in the Beijing district of Haidian . It serves as a sports facility for volleyball , table tennis , badminton , basketball and gymnastics as well as figure skating and ice hockey . The indoor volleyball competitions were held here at the 2008 Summer Olympics .

The capital hall stadium was built in 1968. It was expanded on the occasion of the Universiade . It now offers seating for 18,000 spectators over an area of ​​54,707 square meters. For the 2008 Summer Olympics, the stadium was renovated again as one of eleven competition venues. This work began on May 18, 2006 and ended in December 2007. Now the sports facility is earthquake-proof and has a handicapped accessible facility. The Chinese volleyball tournament Good Luck Beijing 2008 was held as a test for the Olympics on April 16, 2008 .
