Beijing shooting range

In the Beijing Shooting Range Hall were during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games and the 2008 Summer Paralympics competitions in sport shooting discharged. The hall is located in the Shijingshan district of Beijing .

Construction and building

Construction of the Beijing shooting range began on July 13, 2004, and completion took place after three years of construction on July 28, 2007. The sports facility is 45,645 square meters in size and includes, among other things, halls for qualifying competitions and a hall for final competitions. The shape of the entrance area, which connects the two halls, is reminiscent of an arch , which is intended to remind of the origins of shooting sports. Both have shooting ranges over 10, 25 and 50 meters in length. A total of 8,600 spectators can be accommodated in 2,170 permanently installed and 6,430 non-permanent seats. There are 6100 seats in the qualification hall and 2,500 in the final hall. The shooting ranges are equipped with an electronic results display system in which the number of rings and the position of the shot are displayed to the shooter on a monitor.

There are also the competitions during the Paralympics, which also took place in 2008, shortly after the Summer Olympics.

Further / planned use

After the 2008 Summer Games, further international and national shooting sports events are to be held in the Beijing shooting range.
