The Laoshan BMX Field was a temporary BMX - Velodrome in Beijing . It was one of the competition venues for the 2008 Summer Olympics .

Construction of the line began in December 2006 and was completed in August 2007. It was located on an area of 1.98 hectares. The starting point was 10 meters wide, but at other points the width was only 5 meters. The route contained jumps, flattops and other obstacles. In order to be able to maintain the speed, the route was built slightly downhill.

From 20 to 21 August 2007, the UCI World Cup competitions took place on the facility . The suitability for the Olympic Games should be tested.

During the games, tubular steel stands with plastic seats were built next to the route, which offered space for 4,000 spectators. The Laoshan Velodrome is in the immediate vicinity .
