Ying Tung Natatorium

The Ying Tung Natatorium is a swimming pool in Beijing . It will host the Games in water polo and swimming competition in the modern pentathlon of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games .

The Ying Tung Natatorium covers an area of ​​44,635 square meters and seats 4,852 people. It was the venue for the swimming competitions of the Asian Games in 1990 , whereby it caused a very high energy consumption due to problems in keeping the temperature stable. This problem was resolved during the renovation work for the Olympic Games. An outbuilding for training purposes is equipped with a 1700 square meter installation of solar cells , with which the Natatorium's energy needs for lighting and water heating are covered.
