The Olympic Green Hockey Field ( Chinese 北京 奧林匹克 公園 曲棍球 場 ) was a hockey complex consisting of two playing fields in the Chinese capital Beijing .
The facility was located in the Olympic Green and was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics . The hockey competitions took place here during the games and the Olympic Green Hockey Field was the venue for the 7-a-side football games of the Summer Paralympics . The area covered 11.87 hectares and offered space for 17,000 spectators. It took two years to build the best-equipped hockey facility in China. However, even before the Olympic Games began, it was a done deal that the facility would be demolished after the Games.
The construction of the national speed skating hall began on the site in 2017 and will be used as a competition venue for the 2022 Winter Olympics .
