The China National Convention Center ( Chinese 國家 會議 中心 ) is the national convention center of the People's Republic of China . It is located in the capital Beijing in the Olympic Green .
history
It was initially built for the 2008 Summer Olympics , where it served as the main press center and international broadcasting location, as well as a venue for competitions in fencing, pistol shooting and fencing in modern pentathlon. As part of the subsequent Paralympics in 2008 , it was the venue for competitions in boccia and wheelchair fencing. In October 2009 it was opened for its original function as a convention center. The 270,000 m² congress center will also function as a press center during the 2022 Winter Olympics .
