Hinggan Mountains

Hinggan Mountains ( Chinese  興安嶺  /  兴安岭 , Pinyin Xīng'ān Lǐng ) is a generic term for three mountain ranges in northeast Inner Mongolia and the north of Heilongjiang Province in China . In the west are the Great Hinggan Mountains (also Great Chingan , Chinese  大興安嶺  /  大兴安岭 , Pinyin Da Xing'an Ling ), in the north the Yilehuli Mountains ( Chinese  伊勒 呼 里 山 , Pinyin Yilehuli Shan ) and in the east the Little Hinggan Mountains (also called Little Chingan , Chinese  小 兴安岭 , Pinyin Xiao Xing'an Ling ; partly in the Russian Oblast Amur , Russian Малый Хинган / Maly Chingan ). It is one of the most forested areas in the People's Republic of China .

In addition, from the Chinese perspective also since 1858 ( Treaty of Aigun ) completely in Russia exploiting Dende Outer Hinggan Mountains (Stanovoy Range; from Russian хребет Становой , Stanovoi Chrebet ) and since 1860 ( Beijing Convention ) in Russia exploiting Dende interior Hinggan- Mountains (Sichote-Alin; Russian Сихотэ-Алинь ) counted among the Hinggan Mountains.
