Chiquimulilla is a city in Guatemala that belongs to the Santa Rosa administrative district. It is located about 107 km southeast of Guatemala City and 20 km from the Pacific coast.

The city is an important regional trading center and transport hub . The most important products are leather goods. Chiquimulilla had 12,700 inhabitants in 2006 , about 50,000 people live in the 499 km² municipality of the same name ( Municipio ).

Some descendants of the Xinka still live in the surrounding area . This ethnic group was almost completely destroyed after the Spanish conquest, mainly due to diseases brought in by the Europeans. Before the arrival of the Spaniards, they were located in the entire area of ​​the Santa Rosa department. They do not belong to the ethnic groups of Maya . There are only a few dozen old people who can speak the Xinka language .
