The Chiwaukum Mountains are a north-south oriented mountain range in the central part of the US state Washington between 47 ° 41'N / 120 ° 56'W and 47 ° 45'N / 12 ° 54'W.

The mountains are made of mica schist and are part of the Nason Terran . The original rocks of the Nason Terran were deposited 210 million years ago. The terran then collided with the west coast of the continent, and the batholith Mount Stuart invaded this area in the late Cretaceous period . The penetration of granitic rocks transformed the rock into mica schist.

In July 2014, the Chiwaukum Creek Fire burned the eastern flank of the Chiwaukum Mountains.
