Choir Of Young Believers is a band project of the singer, songwriter and guitarist Jannis Noya Makrigiannis (born 1983 in Farum , Denmark ). In Germany the band is mainly known for the song Hollow Talk , which is the theme music of the series Die Brücke - Transit in den Tod .
history
After separating his previous band Lake Placid in 2006, Makrigiannis retired to the Greek island of Samos and began writing his own song material. On his return to Copenhagen Makrigiannis gathered musicians and friends around him and formed the band he called Choir Of Young Believers. The group released the EP Burn the Flag in 2007 with the single Sharpen Your Knife , which was played very often on Danish radio.
Still influenced by the return to Makrigianni's roots on Samos, the band's first album, This Is for the White in Your Eyes, was created . It was released in September 2008, like the debut EP, on the Scandinavian label Tigerspring . The album was nominated seven times for the Danish Music Awards and won in the category "Best New Act".
The second album Rhine Gold was released in 2012 and received mixed feelings from the critics. It's like “pathos for the cold days”, writes Spex magazine about the album.
The third album by the band Grasque was released in 2016 after a burn-out makrigiannis. In April of the same year the band played a few club concerts in Germany.
