The choir project Shosholoza e. V. comes from the Oldenburg / Bremen area . It consists of about 45 members and sings songs of the black South African peoples in their respective national languages. The black South African population is supported with the money and moral support. At first it was essentially the peaceful anti- apartheid movement. Since the liberation, projects have been supported through music and theater for reconciliation between black and white, crime prevention and education about HIV / AIDS .

successes

In addition to the many private trips and contacts in the country, the entire choir made three trips to South Africa (1997, 2002, 2008). As a result, close contact was established with the projects, which among other things guarantees the sensible use of funds and a strong intercultural exchange. It also made it possible to improve singing and rehearse new songs.

In 1996 the choir was invited to provide musical accompaniment to Nelson Mandela's first state visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. Mandela sang and danced along spontaneously.

Due to the high level of commitment, the project gained international recognition. Appearances in several European countries were completed. During a performance at the 32nd Evangelical Church Congress in Bremen, the choir sang and danced on the main stage of the Bremen market square on the evening of the encounter .
