Chorzów Stary (German Chorzow ) is a district of Chorzów ( Königshütte ) in the Silesian Voivodeship , Poland .

Chorzow was first mentioned in a document in 1257. The Maria Magdalena Church was completed in 1892.

In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 3,242 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 2980 for Poland.

In 1922 Chorzów came to Poland. On May 16, 1934, Chorzów was incorporated into the town of Królewska Huta (Polish translation of "Königshütte") , which in turn took over the original Slavic name Chorzów.
