from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chota Char Dham ( Hindi : छोटा चार धाम Choṭā Cār Dhām [ ˈtʃʰoːʈɑː ˈtʃɑːr ˈd̪ʱɑːm ] "little Char Dham ") is a Hindu pilgrimage route in India , which is located in the north of the country in the Himalayas .

The four pilgrim temples are the Badrinath Temple in Badrinath , the Kedarnath Temple in Kedarnath , the Gangotri Temple in Gangotri and the Yamunotri Temple in Yamunotri . All four temples are located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand .

The pilgrimage route should not be confused with the pilgrimage route Char Dham ("four places"), which stretches across the entire subcontinent of India and marks the four cardinal points of India. The Badrinath Temple belongs to both the "small" and the "large" Char Dham.
