Chris Brokaw is an American musician, best known for his work in the bands Come and Codeine .

While studying at Oberlin College , Brokaw met various influential figures in American indie rock of the 1990s. Among them were Stephen Immerwahr , Sooyoung Park , Liz Phair and John McEntire , among others .

Shortly after graduating, Brokaw played drums in GG Allin's band , as well as on the first two Codeine albums. In 1990 he returned to his other main instrument, the guitar. Together with Thalia Zedek he formed the no-wave band Come.

Brokaw later released various albums under his own name. The style varied from instrumental post-rock on Red Cities to more catchy song structures on Incredible Love .

In 2007 he released an album of the same name together with Chris Eckman and Hugo Race under the name Dirtmusic .
