Chris Lawrence (special effects artist)

Chris Lawrence (* 20th century ) is a British VFX Supervisor , the 2014 Gravity the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects received.

Life

He grew up in London and studied mechanical engineering at University College London . In 2002 he started working for the visual effects company Framestore . There he was involved in films such as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , Resident Evil and Troy . In 2007 he moved briefly to Pixar Animation Studios , but came back to Framestore after completing the film WALL · E - The last one clears the earth .

In 2013, he and his girlfriend Lorna Paterson , who also works for Framestore, moved from London to the new Framstore office in Montreal. In 2014, he and Tim Webber , Dave Shirk and Neil Corbould received the Oscar for Gravity in the category Best Visual Effects .
