Chris Rabatz (actually Christoph Determann ) is a German pop singer from Osnabrück .

biography

In the 1980s, Christoph Determann began as a hit and party singer. For the first time he gained more attention under his stage name Chris Rabatz in 1999 with the party anthem Hands to Heaven . In 2001 he had his own greatest success with the song Stand Up (if you want to celebrate) , which is based on the famous stadium anthem. The single made it into the German charts.

Two years later he took part in an image campaign for his hometown with the song “We are fortunate enough from Osnabrück”.

In 2004 he and Volker Rosin recorded a party version of his children's song The Singing Kangaroo from 1986. Under the title Kangaroo Dance and initially under the stage name Kangaroo Dundee featuring K-Team , the song became a hit, first at the ski parties in 1993 and then in the summer of 2004 on Mallorca. The single made it into the top 20 of the hit parade in Germany in September and was another hit for DJ Ötzi in the same year .

Determann, who works full-time as a car salesman in Osnabrück, then retired from the music business. It was only when The KingZ wanted to record his first hit Hands to Heaven again in 2010 and turned to his manager that he went back to the studio with the two musicians and created a new version that put him in the charts for the third time.
