Russula aerina is a fungus from the family of the deaf relatives (Russulaceae). Due to its rarity, the species is hardly dealt with in the literature.

features

Macroscopic features

The hat is bronze, olive brown or olive green and tinted flesh-colored in the middle. It is often variegated and has no granular pigment. It becomes up to ten centimeters wide. The stem is white and a little brown in color at the base. The surface is slightly frosted. It becomes up to five inches long and 1.5 inches thick. The lamellae are thin and creamy yellow in color. You are a bit crowded. The flesh is white and firm. It smells faintly fruity and tastes mild.

Microscopic features

The spores are measure 7-9.5 × 6-8 micrometers. There are thin, long spines on the surface. The eyelashes of the hat skin are two to five micrometers thick, long and forked. Cystidenes are plentiful on the hat. They have one to three cells and measure 50–120 × 4–7 micrometers

distribution

Russula aerina is distributed in Europe in France ( Brittany ), Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic ( Brno ). In Germany the only place of discovery in Baden-Württemberg is in Schönbuch . The species is considered extremely rare.

Russula aerina is edible, but should be spared because of its rarity.
