Christ the King Monument

The Christ the King's Monument is in the Mariaweiler district of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia on Lommessemstrasse.

The memorial was built in 1932 based on a design by Franz Albermann (1877-1959) and symbolizes the conceptual circle of the Christ the King's Festival , which was introduced around the same time. The monument is an approximately 6 m high square pillar that is stepped on both sides at the top. The top forms the cross on the globe . In front of the pillar there is the larger than life representation of Christ in half relief . Christ wears a crown, a royal cloak and a scepter . It stands on a flat rectangular base with an inscription, which in turn rests on a high semicircular pedestal. The monument is made of black ceramic panels .

The building is registered under No. 9/003 in the list of monuments of the city of Düren.
