Franz Ernst Aloys Albermann (born December 30, 1877 in Cologne ; † December 10, 1959 there ) was a German sculptor who first lived and worked in Cologne and later in Frechen .

Life

Franz Albermann was a son of the renowned sculptor Wilhelm Albermann (1835–1913) and a brother of Willi Albermann (born April 8, 1873), who also worked as a sculptor.

From 18 June 1910 to 3 July 1910, Alber man with his wife in the "First Northern Seas" of the twin-screw passenger steamer Meteor of HAPAG part.

From 1920 to 1934 he was the operations director in the Frechen stoneware pipe factory Jacob Kalscheuer & Cie. active Toni Ooms engaged Franz Albermann as artistic director of the building and fine ceramics department established in 1925.

For Philipp Heimann and Prof. Dr. Lemkes created Franz Albermann tombstones in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne.

Franz Albermann died on December 10, 1959 and was buried in the Melaten cemetery (hall 37).

  • before 1925: five slender figures symbolizing the continents of the earth on the facade of the Hansa high-rise in Cologne (together with Joseph Pabst (1879–1950), lost)
  • 1926: Putto with a ram
  • 1926–1927: Ceramic door frames for houses on Hubert-Prott-Straße and An der Fließ in Frechen-Bachem
  • 1927: "Braumännchen" on the corner of the "Zur Glocke" inn in Frechen (referring to the brewery founder Robert Metzmacher, now in the museum)
  • 1928: "Wisdom" figure above the portal of the ring school on the Freiheitsring in Frechen-Unterdorf
  • around 1928: Drinking fountain in the ring school on the Freiheitsring in Frechen-Unterdorf
  • around 1930: Sculpture "Christ World Redeemer" at the Church of St. Audomar in Frechen
  • 1930: Seated image of Christ at the war memorial in Frechen-Bachem (memorial based on a design by the architect Julius Gatzen )
  • 1932: Christ the King's monument in Düren-Mariaweiler (donated on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the metal cloth and dandy roll factory Andreas Kufferath )
