Koleje Śląskie ( German  Silesian Railways ) are a regional railway company in the Silesian Voivodeship based in Katowice .

The company, which was founded on April 8, 2010, is owned by the Silesian Voivodeship and operates the third longest local transport network in Poland , after Gdansk and Warsaw , taken over by Przewozy Regionalne . The trains often run with long intervals through rural regions. With the exception of the S4, which as Szybka Kolej Regionalna serves many closely spaced stations between Tychy and Sosnowiec , the distances between stations are very large. The S4 has been running in advance traffic since 2008. Since December 2011, the rail network has been operated with newer vehicles.
