Christel Zachert

Christel Zachert (* 1940 in Berlin ) is a German author and financial advisor . She also set up a foundation that works for children with cancer.

Live and act

After graduating from high school, Zachert completed a commercial apprenticeship and married the later President of the Federal Criminal Police Office, Hans-Ludwig Zachert . The marriage resulted in three children, two sons and the daughter Isabell, who died of cancer in 1982 at the age of 16. Christel Zachert wrote her first book about Isabell's last year. We'll meet again in my paradise has been translated into more than 30 languages, including English, Dutch, Hungarian, Italian and Turkish.

In 1995, with the proceeds from the book, she founded the Isabell-Zachert-Foundation , which has been helping children with cancer ever since. In addition to her work as an author and her commitment to children's cancer charity, Zachert also works as a financial advisor.

In 2009, Zachert was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her commitment to children with cancer .

One of the sons is the business manager Matthias Zachert , CEO of Lanxess .
