Christian Awart

Christian Awart (born September 28, 1933 , † February 9, 2009 ; full name: Christian Richard Hans Awart ) was an Austrian national table tennis player who was one of the best players in Austria in the 1950s.

Career

Christian Awart won a title at the national Austrian championships four times , namely in 1953 in singles and from 1953 to 1955 three times in a row in doubles with Wolfgang Stoiber . From 1951 to 1955 he took part in four world championships , but never came close to medal ranks.

Awart played in the clubs Union Landhaus, Union Edlitz-Thomasberg (around 1975), ASKÖ Grimmenstein (around 1977 to 1985) and TT Casino Baden AC (since 1985).

He was buried at the Meidlinger Friedhof .
