Christian Berndt

Christian Berndt (* 1969 ) is a German geophysicist and university professor .

Scientific career

Christian Berndt studied geophysics at the University of Kiel from 1989 to 1994 and became a research associate at GEOMAR in Kiel in 1995 . Between 1995 and 1996 he received a DAAD scholarship at the University of Hawaii in Manoa, USA . In 2000 he gained at the University of Oslo in Norway , the doctorate and worked until 2002 as a research assistant at the University of Tromso , Norway. From 2002 to 2006 he was senior geophysicist at the Southampton Oceanography Center in Southampton . In 2006 he became managing director of Oceansurv Ltd., Cowes, UK and worked at the "National Oceanography Center, Southampton" until 2012. Since 2008 he has been Professor of Marine Geophysics at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research Kiel.
