Christian Binet (born March 20, 1947 in Tulle ) is a French comic artist . He became known through the comic series Les Bidochons (dt. Fleischbauch family ). He lives in Étampes .

After studying architecture, he first worked as an illustrator. In the ensuing military service he drew funnies for an internal military magazine. He pursued this style and published individual strips in France Dimanche and various other magazines in 1967 . From 1975 he began to adapt his comics to the interests of adult readers with publications in Mormoil magazine .

In 1977 he joined Fluide Glacial , in which from 1978 he published Kador , stories of a philosophizing, Kant- reading dog. In the series, the character Poupon-la-peste was introduced, which, like Kador, found its place in the Les Bidochons series (German: Fleischbauch family ) from 1979 onwards. This series, which accurately caricatures the mundane everyday life of an average French family, was Binet's greatest success. In addition to the series, Christian Binet published several individual works in the 1980s that deal critically with religion and politics.

His works were published in German in U-Comix and as individual albums in the Volksverlag by Raymond Martin .

Les Bidochons was filmed in France in 1996. Binet wrote the script together with Jean-Jacques Tarbès .

In 2005 Binet was awarded the French Order of Arts et des Lettres .
