Christian Coulin

Christian Coulin (born February 18, 1807 in Dresden , † July 26, 1888 in Linz ) was an Austrian businessman.

Born in Saxony, Coulin came to Linz as a representative of a North Bohemian company, the Liebieg sheep wool company based in Reichenberg (Liberec) . However, there are also traditions according to which he headed the Salzburg branch of the Liebieg company.

At the age of 77 he retired from professional life.

After his death he left the city of Linz a fortune of 242,000 guilders to provide for poor, old and dependent employees. His grave of honor was in the St. Barbara cemetery in Linz and was transferred to the Linz / St. Martin relocated.

Honors

  • Coulinstrasse was named after him in 1882. The traffic route in the cadastral community of Linz runs after Karl-Wiser-Straße No. 17 in a south-easterly direction towards Kärntnerstraße.
