Anne-Aymone Giscard d'Estaing

Anne-Aymone Giscard d'Estaing (* as Anne-Aymone Marie Josèphe Christiane Sauvage de Brantes on April 10, 1933 in the 8th arrondissement of Paris ) was Première Dame of France from 1974 to 1981 during the presidency of her husband Valéry Giscard d'Estaing .

Her father François Sauvage de Brantes died in 1944 in Mauthausen concentration camp .

After Giscard d'Estaing's tenure, she herself stated that she was doing the “Public Relations of the President” during his presidency. This role as President's wife was new in France: her participation in Giscard d'Estaing's New Years address at the end of 1975 sparked criticism.

Every year Anne-Aymone Giscard d'Estaing organizes a glamorous charity evening in the Palace of Versailles for the benefit of the children's foundation Fondation pour l'Enfance , which she founded .
