Yvonne de Gaulle
Yvonne de Gaulle (born Yvonne Charlotte Anne Marie Vendroux , born May 22, 1900 in Calais , † November 8, 1979 in Paris ) was married to General Charles de Gaulle and Première Dame de France from 1959 to 1969.
The marriage had three children:
- Philippe de Gaulle (born December 28, 1921)
- Elisabeth de Gaulle (May 15, 1924 - April 2, 2013)
- Anne de Gaulle (January 1, 1928 - February 6, 1948)
Anne suffered from Down syndrome . Yvonne de Gaulle founded a charity foundation, the 'La fondation Anne-de-Gaulle' (English: Foundation Anne-de-Gaulle), which helps mentally handicapped children.
