Christian Dörfel

Christian Dörfel (born August 17, 1961 in Steyr ) is an Upper Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and constitutional lawyer. Dörfel has been a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament since 2009 .

education and profession

Dörfel attended elementary school in Steinbach an der Steyr from 1967 to 1971 and then attended the BRG Michaelerplatz from 1971 to 1972. He then moved to the BG Werndlpark in Steyr, which he completed in 1979 with the Matura . After military service from 1979 to 1980, Dörfel studied law at the University of Linz between 1980 and 1985 . Dörfel completed his studies with the academic degree Dr. jur. from. Dörfel completed his court year at the Steyr District Court between 1985 and 1986 and worked as a lawyer at the Steyr-Land District Authority between 1986 and 1988. He then moved to the country's constitutional service in May 1988. In 1993 Dörfel became the deputy head of the state's constitutional service in the state parliament. He held this position until 2003 and left the constitutional service in 2009.

Politics and functions

Dörfel was initially involved in the Young People's Party (JVP) and between 1985 and 1992 was the JVP chairman of Steinbach an der Steyr. In addition, between 1987 and 1992 he was JVP district chairman of Kirchdorf an der Krems and in 1991 was elected to the municipal council , community board and parliamentary group chairman of the ÖVP in Steinbach an der Steyr. In addition, between 1992 and 2003 he held the function of ÖAAB chairman of Steinbach an der Steyr and has been party chairman of ÖVP Steinbach since 1994. Dörfel held the office of deputy mayor in the local council between 1997 and 2002 before he was elected mayor in September 2002. He has also been the district chairman of the ÖVP in Kirchdorf an der Krems since 2007. Dörfel was sworn in as a member of the state parliament on October 23, 2009.

In addition to his political activities, Dörfel has been chairman of the Union Grünburg-Steinbach sports club since 1999 and chairman of the Mittleres Steyrtal waste water association since 2002. In 2007 he also took on the role of chairman of the LEADER Region National Park O.ö. Limestone Alps.

Private

Dörfel is married and has two daughters. He lives in Steinbach an der Steyr . Dörfel is an honorary member of the ev K.Ö.St.V. Lamberg Steyr in the Middle Schools Cartel Association (MKV).
