Christian Günther

Christian Günther (born December 29, 1886 in Wüstwillenroth ; † March 15, 1953 there ) was a German politician (DVP).

Live and act

After attending primary school in Wüstwillenroth, Günther worked on his parents' farm. From 1907 to 1909 he was a member of the 7th Company of the 5th Guard Grenadier Regiment in Spandau. From 1914 to 1918 Günther took part in the First World War with various units of the 18th Army Corps .

After his return from the war, Günther joined Gustav Stresemann's German People's Party (DVP) founded in 1918 . In 1919 he became mayor of Wüstwillenroth, and in 1920 he was also a member of the Gelnhausen district council.

From May 1928 to September 1930 Günther sat in the Reichstag as a member of the DVP for constituency 19 (Hessen-Nassau) .

Günther was also a member of the Kassel Chamber of Agriculture and a sworn agricultural expert in his home district, as well as an employee of the Raiffeisen organization and a member of the board of the Landbund.
