Christian Gläsel
Christian Gläsel (born January 14, 1973 in Detmold ) is a German entrepreneur and former racing driver .
Entrepreneur
Christian Gläsel's family has been the sole owner of Weidmüller Interface GmbH & Co. KG , a company for electronic connection technology that has 4,500 employees worldwide , since 1937 . Christian Gläsel holds the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board in the company . In April 2016, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President Barack Obama paid a visit to Weidmüller's stand at the Hannover Messe .
Racing career
Christian Gläsel has been active in motorsport since 1999. He competed in GT and sports car races and took part in races for historic racing vehicles. In 1999 he finished sixth overall in the FIA GT Championship and made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans .
Christian Gläsel owned several valuable racing cars; the collection included a Ferrari 250 GTO , a Ford GT40 and some historic Formula 1 monopostos . The collection was dissolved in 2018. Some cars fetched top prices at auctions.
