Christian Gottlob Moser , from 1869 by Moser , (born February 26, 1799 in Stuttgart ; † December 8, 1886 there ) was a German Protestant theologian .

job

After studying Protestant theology in Tübingen from 1818 to 1821, Gottlob Moser began his professional career in 1822 as a repetiteur. In 1824 he became a helper in Leonberg , in 1829 pastor in Höfingen and in 1834 dean in Brackenheim . In 1839 he worked as dean in Tuttlingen and in 1842 in Kirchheim unter Teck .

In 1848 he finally became prelate and general superintendent in Tübingen . From 1851 he was an extraordinary member of the Protestant consistory . He retired on June 1, 1869.

politics

The general superintendents of the Protestant regional church were, by virtue of their office, privileged members of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament . That is why Gottlob Moser joined the state parliament in 1848 after his appointment in Tübingen. He held the office until 1869.

translation

In 1828, Moser's translation of the mythological library of Apollodorus of Athens appeared in the series Greek Prosaiker in new translations .

Honors and ennobling

The Knight's Cross 1st class of 1869, he was the Order of the Württemberg Crown granted that with the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement ) was associated. In 1874 he received the commentary cross 2nd class of the Frederick Order .
