Christian (Chris) Harmat (born December 25, 1991 in Basel ) is a professional parkour athlete and ninja warrior . He is the reigning overall World Cup winner in parkour and is currently number 1 in the world rankings of the International Gymnastics Federation in the speed category. Christian Harmat is also known for his spectacular appearances on the Ninja Warrior TV format.

Career

The native Swiss with Hungarian roots has been a professional parkour athlete since 2009 . The fascination for the sport was awakened in the then 17-year-old world champion through the film Yamakasi . He is co-founder of the parkour team World's Parkour Family and the parkour clothing brand FLIP.United. Since the sport became part of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), Christian Harmat has had some of his greatest successes, including the World Cup victory in Hiroshima , Japan and the subsequent overall World Cup victory in 2019. He is considered one of the best parkour athletes worldwide and is Zeit 1st place in the world rankings in the speed category. Parkour is expected to be part of the 2024 Summer Olympics . Christian Harmat is traded as a medal contender.

In addition to his parkour career, Christian Harmat has also gained fame through the Ninja Warrior TV format , in which he was particularly noticeable for his speed and daring jumps.

In 2017, Christian Harmat and his friend and team colleague Kevin Fluri were awarded the Basel Youth Prize by the Sperber-Kollegium for their top performance as a “parkour athlete”.
