Then Henning completed 30 regional league missions in the 1997/98 season , where he was able to achieve a total of two goals, but rose with the team as bottom of the table immediately back to the league.

From 1998/99 to 2000/01 Henning played 85 games (nine goals) for Hansa's reserve, before moving to SV Babelsberg 03 in summer 2001 , who was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with Henning, Lars Kampf and Thomas Möller signed three players from Hansa's reserve. In the second division season 2001/02 , in which Babelsberg had to accept the immediate relegation to the regional league, Henning then came to twelve goalless missions at the beginning of the season. Subsequently, due to an injury, he was no longer used for Babelsberg's first team, in the meantime he played for the Babelsberg reserve team.
